A local estate has developed an innovative promotion to help boost the funds of local carnival clubs.
Wilkie May and Tuckwood, based in St Mary Street, Bridgwater, has pledged that for every house sold it will donate £100 to the carnival club the house seller is associated with.
Dave Stokes, publicity officer for Bridgwater Guy Fawkes Carnival Committee, said: “We really appreciate and value the support we receive from local businesses and on behalf of everybody associated with Bridgwater Carnival I would like to thank Wilkie May and Tuckwood for their generosity.
“It’s a really innovative way of raising extra funds for local carnival clubs, and this kind of contribution will ensure our 2015 carnival on Saturday 7 November is the best one ever.”
Nick Hale, branch partner of Wilkie May and Tuckwood added: “Bridgwater Carnival has always been a big part of my family life, and it is nice to be able to play a part helping local carnival clubs with their fundraising efforts.”
The local carnival clubs to benefit from this arrangement are: British Flag CC, Cavaliers CC, Centurion CC, Crusaders CC, Gremlins CC, Griffens CC, Lime Kiln CC, Marketeers CC, Ramblers CC, Renegades CC, Vagabonds CC, Wills CC, YMCA CC, Marina Sydenham Juvenile CC, Newmarket CC, Pentathlon CC, Toppers CC, Wilfs CC and Westonzoyland CC.
