Road Closures
This section is in two parts, part one below, the map, shows the road closures, if you click on the pin for the road you are interested in it will show you the time the road closes, all roads will be reopened as soon as it is safe to do so.
Part two below the map shows a text version of the road closures.
2011 Overview
At 0800 hours the Northbound side of Parkway is closed to enable the procession to line up. A contra-flow system on the southbound carriage is installed at this time. Also at 1000 hours Wyndham Road, Frederick Road from its junction with Wyndham Road to Parkway, are also closed to facilitate the assembly of the procession. Access to Fairfax Road is maintained where it meets Parkway. Access will be maintained to Sydenham Close, Charlton Close and Bincombe Road in order to facilitate access by Emergency Vehicles.
At 1200 hours Trevor Road (Knowle Road to Parkway), Knowle Road (Trevor Road to Parkway).
The above roads shall reopen dependant upon the prevailing conditions and in consultation with the Police.
At 1200 hours High Street, Clare Street, York Buildings, Lamb Lane and Cornhill will close to facilitate the street entertainment, etc. in High Street and on Cornhill.
The following two closures are put in to facilitate the erection of the Grandstands.
At 1600 hours the following road will be closed:
Broadway (northbound) from Salmon Parade to Monmouth Street.
Monmouth Street (northbound), Blake Place (Capes Close to Monmouth Street), Frederick Road (Fairfax Road to Wyndham Road).
At 1800 hours the following road will be closed:
Broadway (Taunton Road to the junction with Penel Orlieu), Broadway (Taunton Road to Salmon Parade), Monmouth Street (southbound), Eastover (Church Street to Monmouth Street), Penel Orlieu, North Street, Taunton Road (Huntworth roundabout to St Mary's Street, Dampiet Street (George Street to St Mary's Street), St Mary's Street, Old Taunton Road, Mount Street (Market Street to Penel Orlieu), St John Street (Broadway to Westonzoyland Road), The Clink (Bristol Road to The Leggar), Bristol Road (Union Street to the Cross Rifles roundabout),Salmon Parade (Hospital car park to Broadway), Salmon Parade (Lime Kiln Inn to Broadway), West Street, Bath Road (Monmouth Street to Bower Lane), Westonzoyland Road (Eastern Avenue to St John Street), Parkway (southbound), Huntworth Layby, Layby's Motorway approach Road.
The above roads shall reopen dependant upon the prevailing conditions and in consultation with the Police.
