New Look Bridgwater Carnival DVD for 2011

Carnival organisers have announced plans for a new innovative official Bridgwater Carnival DVD for 2011.
Somerset based digital video specialist, Mendip Media, is set to film and produce the procession on Friday 4 November, and will bring its own creative look and feel to the popular DVD.
For the first time the filming will take place in the town’s High Street and this will help capture the atmosphere and excitement of the watching spectators as the procession winds its way through the centre of Bridgwater. The new look DVD will also contain footage of the big build up, highlights of daytime activities in the town centre and of the spectacular squibbing display.
Nicky Robertson (pictured 2nd left), director of Mendip Media, said: “This is a real opportunity for us, and we are all excited about being involved with the event.
“The carnival brings so much enjoyment to people from all over the country, and its rewarding to think we can play a part with capturing the memories and emotion of Bridgwater Carnival 2011.”
Two new commentators will also be joining Mendip Media on carnival night. Bridgwater carnivalites, Chris Hocking (far right) and Paul Savage (far left), will take the microphone and provide the humour, wit, facts and insights into all of the entries. BBC Somerset’s Emma Britton (2nd right) will also be featured and will record a special introduction.
Dave Stokes, publicity officer of Bridgwater Guy Fawkes Carnival, added: “Its great news that Mendip Media, Emma, Chris and Paul are involved with this new look production, and I look forward to watching and listening to the DVD after carnival night.
“Its 30 years since the first official filming took place at Bridgwater Carnival, and we are all hoping this DVD will be the best one of the lot.”
Bridgwater Carnival 2011 DVDs cost £15, a reduction on previous years and the lowest price since 1986. They can be ordered in advance from our online shop or they can be purchased after the event from the carnival centre or from carnival club members.
