Carnival Visits Bristol Airport

May 2007

Cavaliers CC at Bristol Airport

Bristol Airport have launched their Sense of Place to strengthen the Airports identity.

"Sense of Place" aims to enhance the environment for passengers, while at the same time providing a platform to local artists, performers, producers and suppliers, drawing attention to the best that the South West has to offer.

Local organisations in the South West have been encouraged to visit the airport and demonstrate what is on offer in the area. Bridgwater Carnival were one of these organisations and were represented by the Cavaliers Carnival Club who visited the airport on Sunday 28th May.

Passengers moving through the airport were able to see a display of carnival photos, watch a video of previous carnivals and if they were feeling generous make a donation.

The centrepiece of the display was a large photo of the 2006 superb entry by the Gremlins CC of Bridgwater "Ghost Ship (Deliver Us)", photos were loaned by Peter J Nicholls Photography of Bridgwater.

Members of the Cavaliers handed out the new publicity leaflets produced for the 2007 Bridgwater Carnival in the hope it will encourage more visitors to come to the carnival this year, both from other areas of the country as well as visitors from abroad.

Other local carnival clubs and the Bridgwater Committee will be visiting the airport between now and the carnival to ensure maximum publicity for our spectacular carnival.
