Hinkley Point B To Sponsor Bridgwater Carnival 2010
March 2010
For the fifth year in succession, Hinkley Point B is sponsoring the publicity material for Bridgwater Carnival.
The EDF Energy owned power station, which employs 550 staff and 18 apprentices, and supplies electricity to over a million households, has kindly agreed to fund the majority of printing costs for the leaflets and posters specially designed to promote Bridgwater’s biggest night of the year.
30,000 leaflets, 100 x A4 / A3 posters will be distributed to tourist information centres, motorway service stations and event attractions throughout the UK, as organisers hope for a record crowd in this, the 405th anniversary of The Gunpowder Plot.
Nigel Cann, Hinkley Point B’s station director, said: “We really value our relationships within the local community, and we are pleased to play our part in helping to promote Bridgwater Carnival.
“I do hope that 2010 will be a safe and successful year for everybody involved with this amazing spectacle.”
Dave Stokes, publicity officer for Bridgwater Guy Fawkes Carnival Committee, added: “This is a marvellous gesture by Hinkley Point B and EDF Energy, and I would like to take this opportunity to thank the company for their kind support. Without the help we receive from local businesses and organisations, our carnival would not be as successful as it is.”
