HINKLEY POINT B TO SPONSOR BRIDGWATER CARNIVAL 2007
June 2007
For the second year in succession, Hinkley Point B is sponsoring the publicity material for Bridgwater Carnival.
The British Energy owned power station, who last year celebrated 30 years of safe, reliable generation, has kindly agreed to fund the cost of producing the leaflets and posters specially designed to promote Bridgwater’s biggest night of the year, which is taking place on Friday 9 November 2007.
12,000 leaflets and 250 A4 posters will be distributed throughout the UK, as organisers hope for a record crowd in this, the 402nd anniversary of The Gunpowder Plot.
Nigel Cann, Hinkley Point B’s station director, said: “It is great to be associated with Bridgwater Carnival and I do hope that 2007 will be a safe, record breaking and successful year for everybody involved with the event.
“This will be my first year of watching Bridgwater Carnival, and I am really looking forward to it, as I have heard so much about the event. I know many employees at Hinkley Point B are involved with carnival, and it is fantastic for our local community and economy.”
Dave Stokes, publicity officer for Bridgwater Guy Fawkes Carnival Committee, added: “This is a marvellous gesture by Hinkley Point B and British Energy, and I would like to take this opportunity to thank the company for their kind support. Without the help from local businesses and organisations, the carnival would not be as successful as it is.”
