New Commentators For Carnival Souvenir

Bridgwater Carnival organisers have announced the names of the two new commentators for this year’s carnival souvenir DVD.
Carnivalites, Andrew Tallon, 30, and Andrew Bennett, 25, will team up with youth organisation, Grapevine, to provide the humour, wit, facts and insights into all of the entries at Bridgwater Carnival 2007 on the popular souvenir.
Andrew Tallon has been a member of Wells based Mendip Vale Carnival Club for 17 years, and during that time has held promoter, social secretary and chairman positions for the club. Away from carnival, Andrew lives in Bristol and is a geography and urban studies lecturer at the University of the West of England.
Andrew Bennett has been involved in carnival since 1996 when he joined Mendip Vale CC, and today holds the positions of vice cart captain and promoter for the club. He is a self employed welder and fabricator and lives in Burnham on Sea. Both presenters have commentating experience and featured on the 2006 carnival DVDs for North Petherton, Burnham on Sea, Wells, Glastonbury and Weston super Mare carnivals.
Dave Stokes, publicity officer for Bridgwater Guy Fawkes Carnival, said: “Both presenters are extremely passionate about carnival, and have a wealth of knowledge relating to carnival clubs and their associated histories."
“Along with Grapevine, their commentary will help capture the atmosphere of Bridgwater’s biggest night of the year, and I look forward to watching and listening to the DVD after the event.”
The DVD will be on sale at £16 plus £1.50 postage & packing, having remained at the same price since 2003 the first year a DVD of Bridgwater Carnival was produced.
Also available are DVD's of Bridgwater Carnivals from 1982 until 2002 which were filmed originally on to VHS tape by Swift TV, all these years have now been transposed on to DVD.
