Flying The Flag For Carnival And Bridgwater

Gerber Juice Company Ltd has once again pledged major support for Bridgwater’s annual Guy Fawkes Carnival.
Company sponsorship for 2010 was confirmed as carnival organisers announced plans to promote the town’s famous annual event with a nationwide campaign.
For the first time, tourism hotspots across the country are being targeted with a free promotional DVD, which shows the spectacular event in its full glory.
The DVD gives a taste of the procession and its unique finale; the fiery hand-held firework display that takes place in Bridgwater’s High Street.
There is also more extensive use of Carnival’s popular new logo on a host of souvenirs from pin badges to hats, and polo shirts to key rings.
Carnival flags, carrying the new logo, will flutter from shops, homes and cars as Bridgwater gets in the carnival mood.
And from July, new flags depicting individual town clubs, will festoon the rafters of Bridgwater’s Angel Place Precinct.
Bridgwater Carnival Publicity Officer Dave Stokes said the aim is to make 2010 the year when Bridgwater Carnival takes off nationwide.
“Bridgwater Carnival is the biggest illuminated procession in the world, and Bridgwater is the only place in the world which holds the squibbing, the unique fiery finale which takes place in the town’s High Street.
“It’s just a case of making sure that everyone across the country knows about it.”
Not surprising then that the key message from Carnival organisers and Carnival’s key sponsor, Gerber Juice Company Ltd (GJCL), is ‘Fly the flag for Carnival and the town’.
The flags, launched last year, were exceptionally successful. This year, even more are expected to be flown all over the town and beyond.
Last year, Gerber Juice celebrated over a decade of support for Bridgwater Carnival.
