Gerber Juice Sponsor Bridgwater Carnival
July 2007
Directors and senior managers from Gerber Juice Company Ltd marked the company’s 2007 main event sponsorship with Bridgwater Carnival by igniting some of the squibs which are normally used to mark the end of the carnival celebrations.
At a specially arranged ceremony at The Puriton Inn, Paul Hurst, Mark Gravatt, Mick Peddar, Richard Dale and Alan Armstead from the UK’s biggest juice manufacturer, handed over the sponsorship cheque to Doug Robson, president of Bridgwater Guy Fawkes Carnival Committee, before donning personal protective equipment and letting the traditional squibs off.
Gerber Juice Company Ltd Personnel Director, Paul Hurst, said that as local employers, the company is well aware of carnival’s importance to the town.
“The event is important socially and economically to Bridgwater, and it illustrates a wealth of high level artistic and engineering skills.
“We’ve sponsored the concerts for many years, and we’re delighted that this year our support includes the squibbing. We really enjoyed our squibbing experience, and we made sure that the cheque was safely away from any sparks!”
Carnival President, Doug Robson, added: “We are thrilled that Gerber Juice Company Ltd has once again confirmed it will be one of the main event sponsors for the Bridgwater Carnival season. Every year the costs for staging the spectacular increases and the generosity and support shown by the company is appreciated by everyone involved with Bridgwater Carnival.”
