Chamber Of Commerce Supports Squibbing Display
October 2010
Six members of the Bridgwater Chamber of Commerce have clubbed together to sponsor the spectacular squibbing display.
The unique tradition, which takes place in the High Street at the end of the procession, brings the Bridgwater Carnival celebrations to an end for another year, and six local companies have pledged their support to the mesmerising carnival finale.
The companies, CG Solutions, Harris Bros and Collard Ltd, Bridgwater Communications Ltd, Progress Products, Boots, and Butterworth Jones Chartered Accountants, agreed to help out after Bridgwater Chamber of Commerce committed to getting involved with this year’s event.
Colin Grafton, Bridgwater Chamber of Commerce member, said: “A number of us attended a presentation given by Bridgwater Guy Fawkes Carnival Committee, and what really hit home was the amount of benefits it brings to the community and local business sector.
“It’s the biggest annual event which takes place in the town, and it makes perfect sense for the two organisations to work in partnership to ensure the town prospers for years to come.”
Dave Stokes, publicity officer for Bridgwater Guy Fawkes Carnival Committee, added: “The support we have been given by local businesses and organisations has been absolutely fantastic, and I would like to take this opportunity to thank all sponsors for their fantastic support. This generous assistance is deeply appreciated by everyone involved with the carnival.”
