Following our trial in 2015 we have taken on board feedback from the people who supported us and made some changes.

So for 2016 we shall be using the same location to provide pitches for the carnival weekend, this year all pitches will have a concrete base and the site will be supplied with a toilet block and waste disposal point. In addition there will be the limited option of an electric hookup at extra cost for those staying both nights.

Some more details of the location and how to get to it:

Tim Bawden who has a site at Manor Farm on the former Westonzoyland Airfield which can provide a pitch with access to fresh water and a waste disposal point, the site is a five  minute walk from the village of Westonzoyland and the local village pub Sedgemoor Inn who serve food. Manor Farm (TA6 0LZ) is located off the A372 and the site is available for one or two nights, i.e. the 4th & 5th November 2016. Campsite Location Map

You should be aware that Bridgwater is very busy on carnival day and if arriving on the Saturday you are likely to experience some delay in getting through the town, those of you arriving via the A39, A361 & A372 i.e. from the Glastonbury direction or the A38 from the Taunton direction are likely to come up against the carts moving into Bridgwater for the carnival, carts arrive from many other Somerset towns, Dorset & Devon and due to their size unfortunately do cause delays as they cannot always take the expected route due to their height.

In addition to the pitch the fee will also include free transport on carnival day the 5th November to take all members of your party into Bridgwater on the day and then return you to Manor Farm after the squibbing display has taken place so no worries about drinking and driving or parking hassle.

If you are coming for two nights there will be a small funfair & firework display sponsored by the Bridgwater Town Council at St Matthews Field, Bridgwater on the Friday night at 7.30 pm to start the carnival weekend off, no transport is supplied for this event, parking in the town centre is available.

The cost of the pitch including transport on carnival day will be £18 per night with an extra £4 per night for electricity if required.

Pitches are limited and have to be pre-booked, which you can do from our online shop.

Bookings for 2016 are now closed.
