Hospitality – Walnut Tree

HOSPITALITY OPTION FOR 2017

Walnut Tree

This option was very popular in 2016 and ran alongside our other popular hospitality package at the Blake Hall, Bridgwater. This option is ideal for anyone booking accommodation and perhaps wanting a slightly different experience so we once again teamed up with the popular Walnut Tree Hotel at nearby North Petherton.

This package is for those staying at the Walnut Tree Hotel and includes a hot meal, see sample Carnival Supper Menu 2017.

The package includes a three course hot meal, a grandstand seat, carnival programme and transport (2 journeys from and back to the Walnut Tree Hotel)!

So how will this work:

For for those staying overnight at the Walnut Tree Hotel. Once you arrive and check in you will have parking reserved at the hotel.

Accommodation needs to be booked directly with the hotel (01278 662255) and is not part of the package, the package is an add on and should be booked through the hotel at the same time.

Depending on what time of day you arrive you may wish to go into Bridgwater for the daytime entertainment, if you wish to do this you are strongly advised to leave your car at the hotel and catch the local bus (100 metres from the hotel) in to Bridgwater as parking is at a premium, check the time of the returning bus before getting off!

The inclusive package will commence late afternoon and include a three course hot meal at the Walnut Tree, times will be advised, this will give you the chance to wind down before the carnival, you will then be issued with your programmes; later a bus will collect you from the Walnut Tree Hotel, take you into Bridgwater and drop you by the grandstand where your seating will be reserved.

If you decide to go for a wander first make a note of the grandstand location as you will be collected from the same spot you are dropped off at and be returned to the Walnut Tree Hotel shortly after the squibbing display finishes.

The grandstand will be a ten minute walk from the High Street, so if you want to watch the squibbing display in the High Street once the last entry has passed your grandstand you need to walk to the High Street and then return for your pick-up, time will be allowed for you to watch the squibbing before departure.

This option will avoid you having to battle the traffic in Bridgwater and having to find somewhere to park, give you a seat to watch the procession and a chance to watch the squibbing display plus transport to and from your accommodation.

The above package costs £48 per person and can be ordered through the hotel if you are booking accommodation, places are limited so if you wish to take advantage of this combined package don’t delay too long. Exact details and times of buses etc. will be emailed to you prior to the day, Bridgwater gets extremely busy on carnival day so please ensure you are where you should be at any given time, we will provide you with a sketch plan to help you find your way around!

If you wish to have the package but not stay at the hotel you can do so just book at our online shop.
