The 2019 Bridgwater Carnival Concerts take place at Bridgwater Town Hall from Monday 30 September to Saturday 12 October. Seen as a curtain raiser to the carnival procession, the popular carnival concerts have been an annual feature Bridgwater since 1883.
Over 4,500 tickets are available for the combined 12 performances, where a cast of over 600 entertainers from 13 carnival clubs, dance troupes and front of curtain acts entertain enthralled audiences.
The concerts start at 7pm on weekday nights and 6pm at weekends, and the show lasts approximately for four hours.
Tickets prices range from £10.50 to £15 and can be purchased from the carnival centre, High Street, Bridgwater or from the online shop at www.bridgwatercarnival.org.uk.
Dave Croker, chairman of Bridgwater Guy Fawkes Carnival Committee, said: “Our carnival concerts are renowned throughout the county and they are a regular feature in the town’s calendar.
We do still have tickets left for certain nights, and my advice would be if you haven’t yet purchased a ticket and would like to attend this year’s carnival concerts, then please get it very soon.”
At the 2018 carnival concerts Gremlins CC won the top award for the second time in five years with their performance Wasteland 3000 (Danger Zone). The Bridgwater club won the prestigious White Hart Cup, which is awarded to the gang and feature gaining the highest number of points throughout the concert fortnight. Ramblers CC were overall runners up with Barnum’s Travelling Show and Renegades CC came third with Festival of Lights. Wills CC were the highest placed tableau club and won the Sam Hooper Cup after coming 8th overall with The American Civil War.
