Auditions

The 2024 Carnival Concert auditions will be held on Tuesday 21st May with the actual Concerts being held from Monday 30th September until Saturday 12th October.

The information below is from 2023 and will be updated after the 2024 auditions have been held.

12 talented local entertainment acts fought off tough competition during tonight’s auditions to secure a front of curtain slot at this year’s carnival concerts.

22 hopeful acts applied to take part in the auditions (sponsored by Anderson and Wall www.anderson-wall.co.uk) at Bridgwater Town Hall, where 54 judges assessed a five minute performance from budding entertainers.

After two hours of auditions, the following successful acts were selected to perform at this year’s popular concerts, which take place between Monday 2 October to Saturday 14 October 2023:-

 Daisy Mae Lee (Singing / Monologue)

 Florence Curtis (Soloist)

Anne Middleton, Secretary and Concerts Coordinator for Bridgwater Guy Fawkes Carnival, said: “We would like to take this opportunity to thank every act for taking the time to apply and audition for our concerts.

Once again receiving so much interest proves that the Bridgwater carnival concerts are as popular as ever  “The standard of the acts was exceptionally high, and this demonstrates just how much talent we have in Bridgwater and the local area.

The judges had a very difficult task in choosing which ones should go forward to the 12 night show later this year.

For those acts that didn’t make it through, we would love to see them back auditioning again next year.”

This year’s main carnival concerts sponsor is Howards Motor Group, with the auditions sponsored by Anderson and Wall, and the concert tickets sponsored by Somerset Car Sales.

Concert tickets can be purchased online at www.bridgwatercarnival.org.uk/carnival-concert-tickets or from the Carnival Centre, High Street, Bridgwater (open Monday to Friday, 09:00 to 13:00 hours). The price of the  tickets range from £15.00 to £19.50 in 2024.
