CONCERTS TICKETS TO GO ON SALE ON WEDNESDAY 1 MAY AS NEW CARNIVAL SPONSOR CONFIRMED FOR 2024
Tickets for the 2024 Bridgwater Guy Fawkes Carnival Concerts will go on sale on Wednesday 1 May.
Held this year between Monday 30 September and Saturday 12 October, the popular concerts are seen as a curtain raiser to the eagerly anticipated annual carnival procession on Saturday 2 November.
Ticket prices range between £15 and £19.50, and this year there will be a reduction in the number of tickets available for each performance due to Bridgwater Town Hall’s planned improved seating arrangements and a change to the accustomed seating plan. Just under 3,500 tickets are available for the 12 performances, where a cast of over 600 entertainers from 12 carnival clubs, 2 dance troupes and 12 front of curtain acts entertain enthralled audiences.
The tickets will be available to be purchased at the Carnival Centre, High Street, Bridgwater, from 9am on Wednesday 1 May, and from 10am online at https://www.bridgwatercarnival.org.uk/carnival-concert-tickets/. Like last year, both those buying tickets online and directly from the Carnival Centre will be able to select specific seats for preferred nights.
Sarah Humphrey, Entertainment Director for Bridgwater Guy Fawkes Carnival, said: “Our 2023 carnival concerts were a sell-out, so if last year is anything to go by and when we factor in the reduction in tickets due to the new seating arrangements, I really do think the demand for tickets for this year’s show is going to be bigger than ever.
“Therefore, to avoid any disappointment, my advice would be to buy your concert tickets as soon as you can.”
Every person watching the show must buy a ticket. The show is not suitable for very young children, and the cradling of small babies or the sitting on laps by young children is not permitted. Wheelchair users and those with mobility aids are asked to highlight this during the purchase of tickets so that necessary storage and viewing arrangements can be made.
FCS International Shipping Limited, a Bridgwater based global shipping company, is the latest company to become an official partner of Bridgwater Guy Fawkes Carnival, and has been confirmed as the main event sponsor for the 2024 Concerts.
Lewis White, Managing Director, said: “We are proud to be sponsoring the 2024 Bridgwater Guy Fawkes Carnival Concerts. Being a Bridgwater based company, we understand the importance and recognise the prominent role the carnival plays in the town and the local community, and we are absolutely delighted to be this year’s main concert sponsor”.
Dave Stokes, Publicity Director for Bridgwater Guy Fawkes Carnival, said: “On behalf of everybody involved with our carnival, I would like to take this opportunity to thank FCS International Shipping Limited for becoming an official sponsor and for their generosity.
“As with all other events, we are faced with ever-increasing costs, and if it wasn’t for the support we receive from the local authorities and business sector, our carnival would not be as successful or popular as it is.”
As preparations for the carnival concerts gather pace, Bridgwater Guy Fawkes Carnival Committee is still on the lookout for front of curtain’ acts to perform at this year’s show. Auditions will take place at Bridgwater Town Hall on Tuesday 21 May, and interested entertainers can apply by contacting Anne Middleton at enquiries@bridgwatercarnival.org.uk or by completing the relevant application form available from Bridgwater Carnival’s official website – www.bridgwatercarnival.org.uk.
