Hundreds of talented young artists from six local schools are celebrating Bridgwater Carnival through a special community art exhibition at Bridgwater Arts Centre.
Running from 28 October to 21 November 2026, the exhibition showcases the imagination, creativity and enthusiasm of local children, bringing together artwork inspired by one of Bridgwater’s most iconic traditions. The exhibition also forms part of Bridgwater Arts Centre’s 80th anniversary celebrations.
Celebrating Creativity Across Our Local Schools
The exhibition features artwork created by pupils from six schools within Futura Learning Partnership:
Puriton Primary School
Westover Green Community School
Woolavington Village Primary School
Northgate Primary School
Willowdown Primary School
Chilton Trinity School
The children developed their artwork through collaborative school projects, Arts Week activities and partnerships with parents and carers. Their creations celebrate the spirit of Bridgwater Carnival while showcasing the remarkable talent and creativity of our next generation.
The project highlights the value of bringing schools, community organisations and cultural partners together to create exciting opportunities for local children.
With support from a grant from Arts Council England, the exhibition has become part of a wider programme of community celebrations around Bridgwater Carnival.
More Carnival Activities for the Community
The celebrations extend beyond the exhibition, with local children taking part in activities and events throughout Carnival weekend.
Festivities begin on the evening of Friday 6 November with a lantern parade and firework display. Initiated by the Bridgwater Carnival Committee and supported by the arts grant, the lantern parade promises to be a wonderful community event involving families from across the area.
There is also a Carnival Mask Trail to discover! Twenty-five masks, decorated by local children on the theme of ‘Energy’, have been placed at various locations around the town centre.
Can you find them all?
Entry forms are available from the Carnival Centre in the High Street or online at
