With just over two months to go until the streets of Bridgwater once again come alive with light, music, movement and thousands of spectators, organisers of Bridgwater Guy Fawkes Carnival are reminding visitors that grandstand seats are still available for this year’s spectacular procession.
Taking place on Saturday 7 November 2026, Bridgwater Carnival is one of the largest illuminated carnival processions in Europe and one of the most spectacular annual events in the South West.
Thousands of people are expected to descend on the town for an unforgettable evening of entertainment, and those looking for the comfort and convenience of a guaranteed reserved seat can still book places in the official grandstands situated around the procession route.
GRANDSTAND SEATS – £32 PER PERSON
All official grandstand seats are priced at £32 per person, with all 12 grandstands charged at the same price.
When booking online, customers can view the grandstands which still have availability, select their preferred stand and then choose their individual seats.
Grandstands open at 5.00pm, and all ticket holders are requested to be seated by 5.45pm, ready for the procession to begin promptly at 6.00pm.
Children must have their own seat and ticket. For safety reasons, children are not permitted to sit on laps.

Alternatively, grandstand seats can be purchased in person from the Carnival Centre in Bridgwater during normal opening hours.
Online bookings are subject to a 4% handling charge plus VAT. Tickets will be emailed to customers following purchase unless the postage option is selected.
Tickets are non-refundable. An optional XCover Refund Protection product is available when purchasing tickets online. This must be selected during the checkout process and cannot be added once a booking has been completed. Customers choosing the protection will receive an email directly from XCover detailing their cover and applicable terms and conditions.
EXPERIENCE ONE OF THE COUNTRY’S GREAT CARNIVAL TRADITIONS
Bridgwater’s association with Guy Fawkes celebrations stretches back centuries, with the town developing a carnival tradition which has been passed from generation to generation.
The first official Bridgwater Carnival Committee was formed in 1881, although historical records of Carnival celebrations in the town stretch back even further.
What has developed since is a spectacle quite unlike anything else.
Today, the procession features the famous illuminated carnival carts alongside walking entries, masqueraders, music and hundreds of performers.
Many of the spectacular carts are built and performed by local carnival clubs whose members dedicate countless hours throughout the year to designing, building, painting, wiring, costuming and rehearsing their entries.
Some of the largest carts stretch to around 100 feet in length, carrying thousands of lights together with elaborate scenery, music and performers.
It is a tradition which needs to be experienced in person to truly appreciate its enormous scale.
And once the procession is over, Bridgwater’s unique tradition of Squibbing provides another spectacular conclusion to Carnival night.
CARNIVAL 2026
This year’s Bridgwater Guy Fawkes Carnival takes place on Saturday 7 November, with the procession starting at 6.00pm.
Months of preparation are already well underway across the Carnival community as clubs and participants prepare their 2026 entries.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR GRANDSTAND CUSTOMERS
All spectators should be aware that the Carnival grandstands are temporary structures, and access may therefore be difficult for people with mobility issues. Unfortunately, organisers are unable to provide assistance with accessing individual seats.
Although the grandstands are roofed, those seated in lower rows may still be affected by adverse weather conditions.
Organisers take steps to ensure spectators have an unrestricted view of the procession; however, they cannot control members of the public who disregard instructions given by Carnival marshals.
