13 talented local entertainment acts fought off tough competition at last night’s auditions to secure a front of curtain slot at this year’s carnival concerts.
17 hopeful acts took part in the auditions at Bridgwater Town Hall which was sponsored by Anderson & Wall, where 58 judges assessed a five minute performance from budding entertainers.
After 1½ hours of auditions, the following successful acts were selected to perform at this year’s popular concerts, which take place between Monday 30 September and Saturday 12 October 2013:-
• Andrews Half Sister – folk duo
• Belle Etoile – vocal group
• Best Foot Forward – dance group
• Callum Hill – guitar / vocalist
• Dannielle Morrissy – vocalist
• Dave Darling – comedian
• Georgia Handel – vocalist
• Harriet Brixey – vocalist
• Imogen Pearce – vocalist
• Kylie Parsons – vocalist
• Liam Duggan – vocalist
• Nathan Ball – vocalist
• Viva La Diva – dance group
Dave Stokes, publicity officer for Bridgwater Guy Fawkes Carnival Committee, said: “We would like to take this opportunity to thank every act for taking the time to apply and audition for our concerts. Once again receiving so much interest proves that the Bridgwater carnival concerts are as popular as ever.
“The standard of the acts was the highest ever, and the judges had a very difficult task in choosing which 13 should go forward to the big event later this year. For those acts that didn’t make it through this time, we would love to see them back auditioning for next year’s event.”
The concerts will run from Monday 30th September until Saturday 12th October, tickets for the show can be pre-booked from 2 April 2013 at our online shop.
