Our official No 1 Fan triumphs again!
Matty, a South Devon teenager, is in awe of Carnival and has become a dedicated fund-raiser by making and selling carnival bracelets. The total raised so far this year for the Bridgwater Guy Fawkes Carnival Committee is a whopping £374.
For autistic Matty, carnival was love at first sight the moment he encountered his first-ever cart seven years ago. He now has expert knowledge of every cart – their entries, music and routines – a walking encyclopaedia of all things carnival!
Matty has had many medical challenges in his life and has found strength to face them through his love of carnival. He is hoping to attend this year’s parade – and to sell a few more of his wonderful bracelets. Who can resist buying one!
