Organisers of Bridgwater Guy Fawkes Carnival are seeking volunteers to be carnival makers at this year’s carnival.
Based on the innovative concept introduced at the 2012 London Olympics, helpers are being sought to help visitors to the town on Saturday 1 November with their questions and to provide information.
Easily spotted in their bright red sweatshirts, this band of volunteers will roam the town centre, from first thing in the morning until the evening procession, answering a myriad of questions and providing a vital service to ensure everyone enjoys this year’s event.
“We are still looking for volunteers to join the team, so if you want to be part of the Bridgwater carnival experience, please get in touch,” says Chris Hocking, Bridgwater Guy Fawkes Carnival Committee. “The only criteria is the confidence to talk to people about anything related to carnival, and being over the age of 18.”
