May 2013
With Bridgwater Carnival 2013 just over 200 days away, Angel Place Shopping Centre has been confirmed as the latest organisation to throw its support behind the celebrations.
The popular Bridgwater shopping centre, which has just under four million visitors every year, has for the third successive year kindly agreed to sponsor the publicity information for the town’s biggest night of the year.
50,000 leaflets and 100 posters will be distributed to tourist information centres, motorway service stations and event attractions throughout the UK, as organisers hope for a record crowd in this, the 408th anniversary of The Gunpowder Plot.
Roger Smith, manager of the shopping centre, said: “Bridgwater Carnival and its associated activities bring much trade to local businesses all year around, and it makes perfect sense for us to work in partnership with the carnival committee to promote the town.”
“I do hope that 2013 will be a successful year for everybody involved with this amazing spectacle.”
Dave Stokes, publicity officer for Bridgwater Guy Fawkes Carnival, added: “I would like to thank Roger, the staff and the tenants in Angel Place for their generous support, and for providing us with a platform to promote Bridgwater Carnival. Our carnival is unique, and without the help we receive from local businesses and organisations, our carnival would not be as successful as it is.”
If you would like some leaflets and play your own part in promoting Bridgwater Carnival, please contact Dave Stokes or on 07909 567888.
The activities of Bridgwater Carnival can now also be followed by Facebook, Twitter and YouTube. Dave added: “Social networking has proved to be a popular acquisition to the carnival’s publicity strategy, and this has helped promote the carnival to a whole new audience all over the world.”
