Concert Tickets Day One Release

The pulling power of the Bridgwater Guy Fawkes Carnival Clubs goes from strength to strength.

There was huge demand for concert tickets when they went on sale at 9am last Thursday (1 May). Within hours more than 60% of all available seats were sold. At one stage there was a long queue for tickets at the carnival centre and bookings were running at around 300 an hour!

The run of 12 performances at the Town Hall between Monday, September 29 and Saturday, October 11, has a total audience capacity of just under 3,500 and 2,200 seats were booked on the first day of sales. The final performance is already a sell-out.

Entertainment Director, Sarah Humphrey, said the strong demand for tickets was a testament to the outstanding quality of performances by the clubs, dancing troupes and front-of-curtain entertainers.

“Although many seats have already gone there are still plenty available at the moment, but sales remain brisk, so don’t wait too long or you may be disappointed,” added Sarah.

Sarah also reminds everyone to be aware of online scams by people claiming to have tickets for sale. “Please, only buy tickets at the Carnival Centre or on our official online tickets sales site. If anyone genuinely has tickets, they have bought and want to sell or change, please pop in to the carnival centre or contact me at entertainment@bridgwatercarnival.org.uk.”
