With Bridgwater Carnival 2014 fast approaching JD Wetherspoon has been confirmed as the latest organisation to throw its support behind the celebrations.
The popular pub chain who owns The Carnival Inn in St Mary Street Bridgwater, has kindly agreed to sponsor the publicity information for the town’s biggest night of the year.
40,000 leaflets and 100 posters will be distributed to tourist information centres, motorway service stations and event attractions throughout the UK, as organisers hope for a record crowd in this, the 409th anniversary of The Gunpowder Plot.
Emma Simpson, manager of The Carnival Inn, said: “Bridgwater Carnival and its associated activities bring much trade to local businesses all year around, and it makes perfect sense for us to work in partnership with the carnival committee to promote the town.”
“I do hope that 2014 will be a successful year for everybody involved with this amazing spectacle.”
Dave Stokes, publicity officer for Bridgwater Guy Fawkes Carnival, added: “I would like to thank Emma, the staff at The Carnival Inn and JD Wetherspoon for their generous support, and for providing us with a platform to promote Bridgwater Carnival. Our carnival is unique, and without the help we receive from local businesses and organisations, our carnival would not be as successful as it is.”
If you would like some leaflets and play your own part in promoting Bridgwater Carnival, please contact Dave Stokes on 07909 567888 or via publicity@bridgwatercarnival.org.uk.
The activities of Bridgwater Carnival can now also be followed by Facebook, Twitter and YouTube. Dave added: “Social networking has proved to be a popular acquisition to the carnival’s publicity strategy, and this has helped promote the carnival to a whole new audience all over the world.”
