13 talented local entertainment acts fought off tough competition during tonight’s auditions to secure a front of curtain slot at this year’s 2016 carnival concerts.
22 hopeful acts applied to take part in the auditions (sponsored by Anderson and Wall www.anderson-wall.co.uk) at Bridgwater Town Hall, where 48 judges assessed a five minute performance from budding entertainers.
After 1½ hours of auditions, the following successful acts were selected to perform at this year’s popular concerts, which take place between Monday 3 October and Saturday 15 October 2016:-
- Chloe Jenkins – vocalist
- Westcan Choir – Dance choir
- Stereo Acoustic – Music duo
- Paige Brunton – Vocalist
- Harriet Brixey – solo vocalist
- Cameron Sell & Mia Riddle – Music duo
- Fox King Dance Academy – dance group
- Nathan Ball – vocalist
- Megan Brunton – vocalist
- Kizzie Proctor – vocalist
- Kimberly Price – vocalist
- Kirby Warren – vocalist
- Viva La Diva Showgirls – song / dance / showgirls
- Reserve: Absolute Pitch – vocal group
Rita Jones, president for Bridgwater Guy Fawkes Carnival Committee, said: “We would like to take this opportunity to thank every act for taking the time to apply and audition for our concerts. Once again receiving so much interest proves that the Bridgwater carnival concerts are as popular as ever.
“The standard of the acts was the highest ever, and the judges had a very difficult task in choosing which 13 should go forward to the big event later this year. For those acts that didn’t make it through this time, we would love to see them back auditioning for next year’s event
