MEH ALLIANCE FIRST SPONSORSHIP FOR BRIDGWATER GUY FAWKES CARNIVAL
MEH Alliance, a tier one contractor helping to build Hinkley Point C, is delighted to announce its first local sponsorship, supporting the 2023 Bridgwater Guy Fawkes Carnival.
Whilst Hinkley Point C is the main sponsor for the historic event, the MEH Alliance is sponsoring the event’s official DVD. The carnival procession was first officially filmed and made into a video back in 1982, and since then a video / DVD has been produced and sold every year, and this is the first time the popular souvenir has been sponsored.
Since mobilising to the construction site in 2019, MEH Alliance has been steadily expanding and is set to become the largest contractor on site, employing a workforce of
up to 6,000 individuals at its peak. It is involved in the installation of the mechanical, electrical, air ventilation and conditioning works for Hinkley Point C, and is formed
through a partnership between EDF UK and four joint venture companies: Altrad, Cavendish Nuclear, Balfour Beatty Kilpatrick, and NG Bailey.
Lee Dawes, MEH Joint Venture Director, said: “I’m truly excited to support the Bridgwater Carnival this year. We value the support of the local community here in Somerset, and I hope this sponsorship is just the first of many to come in the coming years.”
“Like all community events in the UK, the cost of staging and arranging Bridgwater Guy Fawkes Carnival has increased significantly in recent years”, said Dave Stokes, Publicity Director for Bridgwater Guy Fawkes Carnival.
“Therefore, during these incredibly difficult economic times we find ourselves in, the sponsorship support we receive from organisations such as MEH Alliance is more
important than ever and very much appreciated, and I would like to take this opportunity to thank them for their generosity and kindness.”
Dave added: “Some of the employees from MEH Alliance are actively involved with Bridgwater carnival clubs, and the money raised from the sale of DVDs are shared with the town’s carnival clubs. So the sponsorship from MEH Alliance will really help in ensuring the carnival continues for future generations to enjoy.”
