The country’s largest independent vehicle fast fit specialists have just confirmed their sponsorship of Bridgwater Carnival 2016.
National Tyres and Autocare who are based at Wylds Road in Bridgwater, are set to sponsor the glittering squibbing display, which will take place after the carnival procession on Saturday 5 November and will bring the town’s 2016 carnival celebrations to an end for another year.
This year’s squibbing display inherits an even greater significance as it is exactly 300 years since the first recorded evidence of squibbing in Bridgwater.
Dave Lang, Divisional Director from National Tyres and Autocare, said: “As a new company to Bridgwater we are delighted to support the Bridgwater Guy Fawkes Carnival and become involved in the local community, especially this year with the squibbing celebrating its 300th anniversary. We wish the carnival every success”
Malcolm Cattle, president of Bridgwater Guy Fawkes Carnival Committee, added: “We are so thrilled that National Tyres and Autocare have agreed to pledge their support to the carnival celebrations and I would like to take this opportunity to thank them for their support and kindness.
“Every year the carnival procession and the squibbing display gets bigger and more impressive and if it wasn’t for the generosity of companies such as National Tyres and Autocare, then our carnival would not be as popular as it is.”
