With tickets soon to go on sale for the Carnival Concerts, Bridgwater Guy Fawkes Carnival Committee is pleased to confirm a new main sponsor for the popular annual two week long show.
Howards Motor Group, a multi-site car retailer with locations in Weston Super Mare, Taunton, Yeovil and Dorchester, is the latest company to become an official partner of Bridgwater Guy Fawkes Carnival, and importantly will be the main event sponsor for the 2023 concerts.
Held this year between Monday 2 October and Saturday 14 October, 2023 sees the 140th anniversary of the carnival concerts. Over 4,500 tickets are available for the 12 performances, where a cast of over 600 entertainers from 12 carnival clubs, dance troupes and front of curtain acts entertain an enthralled audience at Bridgwater Town Hall. The concerts are seen as a curtain raiser to the eagerly anticipated annual carnival procession which takes place on the first Saturday on every November.
Chris Lee, Managing Director, Howards Motor Group, said: “We are excited to be involved with this event in 2023, supporting an activity that is embedded within one of the local communities that we operate is extremely important to us.
“Although through our business we ensure that we have a product or service to suit everyone’s needs, our focus on supporting and working with our communities has and will always stretch far beyond this.
“As a team we are ecstatic to be involved in this fantastic event and cannot wait for October”
Dave Stokes, Publicity Director for Bridgwater Guy Fawkes Carnival, said: “On behalf of everybody involved with our carnival, I would like to take this opportunity to thank Howards Motor Group for becoming an official sponsor and for their generosity.
“As with all other events, we are faced with ever-increasing costs, and if it wasn’t for the support we receive from the local authorities and business sector, our carnival would not be as successful or popular as it is.”
Tickets for the 2023 carnival concerts go on sale on Tuesday 2 May at 9am, with prices ranging from £13.50 to £18. The tickets will be available to be purchase from our online shop or the carnival centre, High Street, Bridgwater. Those buying tickets online will for the first time be able to select specific seats for preferred nights. In previous years, this option has only been possible when purchasing tickets from the carnival centre.
Dave added: “We are continuously looking at ways of improving our carnival experience, and following feedback from the public after last year’s carnival concerts, we are introducing this enhanced online booking system for our concert tickets where computer users can choose their own seats. This is the way most theatre, show and event tickets are purchased nowadays.”
