With Bridgwater Carnival 2015 over seven months away JD Wetherspoon has been confirmed as the latest organisation to throw its support behind the celebrations.
The popular pub chain who owns The Carnival Inn in St Mary Street Bridgwater, has kindly agreed to sponsor the publicity information for the town’s biggest night of the year.
40,000 leaflets will be distributed to tourist information centres, motorway service stations and event attractions throughout the UK, as organisers hope for a record crowd in this, the 410th anniversary of The Gunpowder Plot.
Emma Simpson, manager of The Carnival Inn, said: “Bridgwater Carnival and its associated activities bring much trade to local businesses all year around, and it makes perfect sense for us to work in partnership with the carnival committee to promote the town.”
“I do hope that 2015 will be a successful year for everybody involved with this amazing spectacle.”
Dave Stokes, publicity officer for Bridgwater Guy Fawkes Carnival, added: “I would like to thank Emma, the staff at The Carnival Inn and JD Wetherspoon for their generous support, and for providing us with a platform to promote Bridgwater Carnival. Our carnival is unique, and without the help we receive from local businesses and organisations, our carnival would not be as successful as it is.”
The 2015 publicity flyers were formally unveiled at a special carnival engagement briefing for businesses and organisations on Tuesday 31 March at Bar 27, Bridgwater which was attended by over 70 people.
Dave added: “The briefing was a big success and it was tremendous to see so many local business representatives interested in Bridgwater Carnival, our history and our plans. On behalf of Bridgwater Guy Fawkes Carnival Committee, I would like to thank everybody for giving up their valuable personal time to listen to what we had to say. We really appreciate it.”
